Victory!

is ours. Well, theirs. I cannot hardly take any credit for the fantastic performance that the FHC Girls put in this weekend. They were at the top of their game. Yesterday, at prelims, they did the unthinkable. Of the 16 girls that were tapered for conference, they all went a season best…in everyone of their swims. All 32 swims. This is something that I have never seen in my time coaching and is a testament to the girls very hard work throughout the season. Today we capped off that fantastic perfomance with an equally impressive performance. We went season best times in two of the three relays, just missing the third which we still won handily. Our final margin of victory was nearly 100 points, a huge margin for the conference meet. We placed 9 athletes all conference, qualified another 4 people for state and had 20 of 22 swimmers have a Saturday swim. I am very proud of the girls. One swim that sticks out in my mind was K Bo’s 500. She was a long way out of the race but gutted out a strong finish. It was not a good time for her, but she fought for the finish.

The examples of exemplary performances were numerous. My hats off go to Vonnie, Ellen, and T-Rob for getting their cuts today. Folllowing the meet my life, and the subsequent decisions that go with life were made much more difficult. I was given a way to do both, which is never or should I say always, a good thing. Who knows. I was given a way to spend time in China, teaching English and also finish up with at least Christine’s senior year. AHHHH Decisions. I will keep you (whoever you may be, I am pretty sure that no one reads this) posted on which way I decide. Until then, signing off as Conference Champs.
